A Taste of Britain is looking for a warm, polished, organized, and dependable Host to join our busy Tea Room and Café in the beautiful Eagle Village Shops in Wayne, PA.

We're a popular, full-service restaurant known for our traditional British afternoon tea, delicious food, welcoming atmosphere, and exceptional guest experience.

Our Tea Room is a lovely place to work, with wonderful customers, a friendly team, and daytime hours. But we're also a busy, high-volume restaurant, and we're looking for someone who can confidently manage the front of house, stay organized under pressure, and help make every guest feel genuinely welcome.

Previous restaurant hosting experience and familiarity with reservation systems are important. We're especially interested in someone who can jump in, take initiative, and become a valued part of our team.

We're looking for someone with excellent communication skills, good judgment, a professional presence, and the confidence to manage a busy reservation book while coordinating with the rest of our team.

This is an important position. Our host is often the first and last person our guests interact with, and we want someone who takes pride in making those moments special.

What You'll Do

• Warmly welcome guests and create a wonderful first impression.

• Manage our busy reservation book using Resy, including reservations, cancellations, special requests, and table availability.

• Greet and seat guests efficiently while maintaining a smooth flow of service.

• Answer phone calls, respond to guest inquiries, and assist with reservations.

• Help coordinate takeout orders and pickups.

• Communicate closely with servers, kitchen staff, and management to keep service running smoothly.

• Handle guest questions and concerns with professionalism, warmth, and good judgment.

• Keep the host stand and front entrance organized, welcoming, and running efficiently.

• Assist in our adjoining British Boutique as needed, including customer service and retail transactions.

• Take ownership of daily responsibilities, anticipate needs, and help the entire team succeed.

Who We're Looking For

We're especially interested in candidates who:

• Have previous restaurant hosting experience, ideally in a busy, full-service restaurant.

• Have experience using a restaurant reservation system. Resy experience is a big plus!

• Have excellent communication skills and a naturally warm, engaging personality.

• Are polished, professional, and genuinely enjoy providing exceptional hospitality.

• Can multitask, think on their feet, and remain calm during busy service periods.

• Have strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.

• Are dependable, proactive, and comfortable taking initiative without constant direction.

• Enjoy working collaboratively with a hardworking, friendly team.

Experience in fine dining or upscale casual restaurants is strongly preferred. We strive to deliver the attentive, thoughtful service of fine dining in a cozy, welcoming setting.

Retail experience is also a plus, as our hosts are cross-trained to assist in our beautiful British Boutique adjacent to the Tea Room.

Schedule & Compensation

• Pay: $17–$22 per hour, depending on experience, responsibilities, and availability.

• Hours: Generally 9:30 AM–4:30 PM.

• Schedule: Full-time and part-time opportunities available.

• Shift: Daytime hours — no late-night restaurant shifts!

• Location: Eagle Village Shops, Wayne, PA.

• Work Location: In person.
